The purpose of the competitions is to inform honey-growers, honey producers, beekeepers, processors, and retailers, who distribute their standardized products legally, to preserve and to ameliorate the quality of their branded product by promoting high-quality honey products in every aspect of the spectrum of its use and consumption.
– QUALITY Honey Awards
The purpose is the promotion of the knowledge of the particular value and of the healthy/nutritional aspects of honey to new consumers of young age-schools, to professional pastry chefs, artisans, with emphasis on gastronomy & culinary art schools and on restaurants in UK, but also all around the world. Also, the promotion of the diversity of varieties and of the high quality of honey products produced with the aim of advancing the knowledge of their different flavors.
All branded (not bulk) honeys available in retail stores are eligible to participate for the supreme honey award. The products to be evaluated must be in the appropriate condition for tasting and their distinctive information must be written out correctly and clearly on the label, i.e. they must be products ready to be sold to the consumer public. The contest’s organisational committee may request chemical tests in cooperation with recognised laboratories, in order to verify that the products technically sound.
The blind method is used for tasting the products, without packaging and without any type of distinctive feature visible. Each product is given a code number to ensure their reliable traceability. The samples are evaluated by the Jury Panel. Each judge carries out an organoleptic analysis of the products he tastes, and records a numerical rating on the evaluation sheet, which represents the general sense of enjoyment (which weighs the most in the final rating) as well as other criteria, such as appearance, odour, texture, flavour and mouth-feel.
The products are evaluated based on their distinct and individual properties and do not compete with each other.

The London Honey awards exist as a way to celebrate and honor excellence in honey products packaging design. It encourages designers and brands alike to question their works and brings awareness to brand owners, marketers. Creates a point where the honey industry can provide the innovation and stay informed of trends.
In seeking a reputable contest, we have put together a sensory committee of experienced and trained tasters.
Products for participation
All branded honey products are eligible for participation for the best packaging award. The products to be evaluated must be in the appropriate condition for testing and their distinctive information must be written out correctly and clearly on the label, i.e. they must be products ready to be sold to the consumer public.
Each judge records a numerical rating on the evaluation sheet, which represents the general sense of Imaging (which weighs the most in the final rating) as well as other criteria, such as the label, bottle or can or other material of packaging, innovation, colors and the general image of the product.
The companies that will be awarded have the right to promote their distinction, by using the award and contest logos. Products are evaluated by each member of the committee.
