Alfa Laval reinforced its leadership as a partner for the sustainable avocado oil processing through two key industry engagements in Kenya: a dedicated Avocado Oil Seminar and participation in the International Africa Avocado Congress in Nairobi. Alfa Laval teams from both MESEA and Italy attended both events that were held in collaboration with East African partner, Ideologie, and brought together processors, investors, and industry stakeholders from across the region.
With global demand for high‑quality Crude / Virgin /Extra virgin avocado oil continuing to rise, Alfa Laval highlighted the importance of improved fruit handling, optimized processing practices, and sustainable plant performance. Discussions focused on how processors can enhance oil yield, quality, and operational efficiency to meet international standards and capture the growing premium market segment.
A central focus of both events was Alfa Laval’s latest innovations in avocado oil extraction:
Thermal Conditioning Module (TCM) – Sustainable solution for a next‑generation paste preheating that reduces malaxing time, controlled FFA levels, improves quality and overall oil recovery.
Booster Technology – Oil Production Under Vacuum – a game‑changing innovation that delivers up to 10% estimated higher yields, operates in absence of Oxygen, enhances phenol preservation, reduces wax & esterified FFA content, lower water consumption which produces superior oil quality.
Industry Commitment and Regional Impact
“Processors across East Africa are accelerating their shift toward premium avocado oil, and innovation will be essential to staying competitive,” said Dhiraj Singh, Vice President of Alfa Laval’s Food and Pharma Division in the Middle East, East, and South Africa. “By engaging in events such as the Avocado Oil Seminar & the International Africa Avocado Congress, Alfa Laval demonstrates its commitment of High Focus on Africa with reliable, sustainable, and future‑ready solutions that elevate industry performance to have a Positive Impact.”
