Alfa Laval Middle East Receives “Trailblazer of Dairy Processing” Award at the Global Dairy Innovation Conference 2026

Alfa Laval Middle East received the prestigious Trailblazer of Dairy Processing award recently at the Global Dairy Innovation Conference (GDIC), held this week in Dubai. The award recognizes organizations that are redefining the future of dairy through solutions that deliver measurable impact on customer wellbeing, operational excellence, and long‑term value creation.

“We are proud to be recognized this week at GDIC, a key event for the regional dairy industry” said Dhiraj Singh, Vice President of Food & Pharma at Alfa Laval Middle East, South & East Africa (MESEA). “At Alfa Laval, we are constantly striving to be pioneers in making a positive impact. At the Food & Pharma division, particularly, we place great emphasis on creating innovative sustainable solutions that support dairy producers to optimize their performance while contributing to a resilient regional food system.”

The GDIC Innovation Awards celebrate companies whose technologies and strategies are shaping the next era of dairy processing.  Alfa Laval was recognized for its pioneering Extend™ technology, an industry‑first solution designed to transform the sustainability and efficiency of dairy processing. By applying a weak electrical current through the heat exchanger, Extend™ reduces biofilm formation by 90–99%, enabling dairy producers to safely extend cleaning intervals from the industry standard of eight hours to twelve hours or more.

Extend™ technology proved effectiveness in multiple applications globally. Real‑world data from one of Scandinavia’s largest dairy producers demonstrated remarkable results using Extend™: a 50% increase in uptime, 30% reduction in CIP cycles, and significant resource savings, including 100,000 kWh in energy, 35,000 kg of CIP chemicals, and 7,000 m³ of water. This breakthrough not only boosts productivity and profitability but also supports the industry’s transition toward more sustainable, resource‑efficient operations.

The recognition at GDIC 2026 reinforces Alfa Laval’s position as a trusted partner to dairy manufacturers seeking to accelerate efficiency, sustainability, and long‑term value.
