Competek helps FMCG manufacturers simplify line conversions

As fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) manufacturers face growing pressure to increase production flexibility while minimising downtime and costs, Competek’s integrated Line Conversion Service enables manufacturers to simplify complex format changeovers, helping them optimise existing production lines and introduce new formats more efficiently.

Format changes across bottling lines can involve multiple stages, from bottle design and blow moulding through to filling and palletising, creating complexity for packaging engineers, production managers and R&D teams. Competek’s service brings these requirements together under a single partner, combining engineering expertise and design capabilities to deliver solutions tailored to existing production lines and individual manufacturing needs.

The service covers the full conversion process, from mould design and custom components through to spare parts, with each project beginning with an analysis of the existing line and its operational requirements. This enables Competek to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime and limit the investment required to implement new formats.

“Successful line conversion requires much more than adapting a single component or introducing a new bottle format,” said Alessandro Bortoluzzi, Operations Director at Competek. “It demands a detailed understanding of how the entire line performs, from blow moulding and filling through to palletising, and how each element interacts with existing equipment.

“By analysing the line as a whole and designing components around its specific technical requirements, we can help manufacturers optimise changeovers, minimise downtime and introduce new formats with greater control and efficiency.”

Competek takes a multi-brand approach, assessing individual processes and line performance to develop solutions that integrate with existing equipment. By providing a single point of contact across the conversion process, the company aims to simplify project coordination while helping manufacturers introduce greater flexibility into their production operations.
