Heat and Control Brings Smarter Seasoning and Sustainability to Snackex 2026

FastBack Symphony OMS – One system, endless flavour! Designed to simplify seasoning operations while delivering greater accuracy, consistency and control.

Heat and Control will showcase its latest snack processing, conveying, seasoning, weighing, and packaging technologies at Snackex 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal.

With sustainability and production efficiency high on the agenda for snack manufacturers, the company will highlight solutions that support smarter seasoning, more sustainable operations and improved production performance.

Their Snackex showcase will feature a range of new and recently launched technologies designed to address challenges such as rising energy costs, water consumption, seasoning control and workplace conditions.

On display will be the FastBack® Symphony On-Machine Seasoning System (OMS), a recently launched solution developed to simplify seasoning operations and provide greater accuracy in high-speed production environments.

Designed to address some of the most common challenges associated with snack seasoning, Symphony OMS is a significant step forward in on-machine seasoning performance.

“Seasoning is one of the most critical and challenging stages in snack production,” says Blake Svejkovsky, General Manager, Product Handling Systems at Heat and Control.

“With Symphony OMS, we set out to address the real-world issues processors face every day, including airborne seasoning, inconsistent coverage and sanitation demands. This is the most accurate on-machine seasoning system we’ve ever developed, and it is engineered to perform at higher line speeds and application rates.”

Sustainability will also feature prominently, with the company’s Cascade Water Recirculation Systems demonstrating its long-term focus on water efficiency in food manufacturing.

Developed through extensive research and development, the advanced water management systems help processors reduce freshwater consumption while maintaining sanitation and process performance.

“Snack manufacturers face growing pressure to operate with less — less energy, less water, less waste,” says Rick Bajema, Director of Processing Innovations at Heat and Control.

“Our Cascade Water Recirculation Systems offer practical tools to conserve, treat and reuse water more effectively. Technologies such as our Slice Wash Support Module (SWSM) and Pre-Rinse Support Module (PRSM) significantly reduce water usage without compromising food safety or equipment performance.”

The SWSM removes up to 90 percent of starch from slice washer water, helping reduce freshwater use and debris entering fryers. The PRSM removes larger particles from peeler and washer systems, minimising the amount of external water turnover required.

Thermal processing solutions from recently acquired company Tek-Dry Systems will also be highlighted. Engineered for high-throughput production operations, Tek-Dry solutions provide advanced drying, toasting, roasting and cooling across a broad range of snack, cereal and nut applications, with flexible heating options to suit diverse production needs.

Proven Portfolio and Industry Partnerships

Heat and Control supports the world’s leading snack manufacturers through a portfolio of trusted brands including FastBack, Spray Dynamics, Mastermatic, Tek-Dry Systems, Fabcon Food Systems and Ishida.

Together with long-standing partner Ishida, Heat and Control will provide visitors with convenient access to expertise across processing, product handling, seasoning, weighing, inspection and packaging technologies.

Throughout the show, live demonstrations of the FastBack Symphony OMS will give attendees the opportunity to see the system in action and discuss their specific processing requirements with Heat and Control’s team of specialists. Visit Heat and Control at Snackex 2026 at Stand #401.
