Hotpack records 96% environmentally friendly product portfolio in its latest sustainability report

Hotpack, a UAE-headquartered global leader in sustainable packaging solutions, has announced the launch of its latest sustainability report, “Our Impact. Our Future”, which revealed that 96 per cent of its product portfolio is now validated as environmentally friendly and recyclable.

Outlining Hotpack’s progress in sustainable product development, responsible manufacturing, employee wellbeing, community engagement and governance, the report highlights Hotpack’s achievement of the EcoVadis Gold Medal, following an overall score of 80 out of 100, placing the company in the 97th percentile of businesses assessed worldwide.

The Gold Medal places Hotpack among the top five per cent of companies assessed by EcoVadis globally, providing independent recognition of the company’s performance across these key sustainability and responsible business areas. EcoVadis is a global sustainability ratings platform that evaluates companies across areas including environmental performance, labour and human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement.

Commenting on the report, Mr. Abdul Jebbar PB, Founder, Managing Director and Group CEO of Hotpack, said, “The Sustainability Report 2025 shows the progress we have made in making sustainability an integral part of how Hotpack operates, innovates and grows. For us, responsible growth is not a separate initiative. It is increasingly embedded in the decisions we make across product development, manufacturing, our supply chain, our people and the communities in which we operate.”

“The EcoVadis Gold Medal is an important recognition of the collective efforts of our employees, partners and stakeholders. At the same time, it gives us a clear responsibility to continue improving. Reaching a point where 96 per cent of our product portfolio is environmentally friendly and recyclable demonstrates the direction in which our business is moving, but we will continue investing in innovation and practical solutions that help our customers meet their own sustainability objectives,” he added.

Mr. Zainudeen PB, Group Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Executive Director of Hotpack, said, “As we mark three decades in the packaging industry, the company continues to expand its global manufacturing and distribution capabilities while investing in sustainable product development and operational improvement.”

“The report also highlights Hotpack’s performance across workplace health, safety and employee development. The company, which employs more than 4,500 people representing over 33 nationalities, recorded zero workplace fatalities during 2025. Employees received an average of 78 hours of training during the year, alongside continued programmes focused on diversity, equity, inclusion, employee wellbeing and career development,” he added.

Mr. Anwar PB, Group Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Executive Director at Hotpack Global, said, “Prepared in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards, the Sustainability Report 2025 outlines Hotpack’s performance and initiatives across product innovation, resource efficiency, responsible sourcing, workplace practices, governance and community engagement. The report reflects the company’s continued ESG reporting journey and its approach to integrating responsible business practices across its operations.”

“Hotpack has continued to expand its range of sustainable packaging solutions through the use of recycled-content materials, plant-based packaging, biodegradable plastics and circular packaging design. Its r-PET packaging range, for example, delivers a reported 30 to 40 per cent reduction in CO₂ emissions compared with virgin PET through the use of recycled content and circular design principles. The company has also developed its Eco Store as a dedicated platform offering customers access to more eco-conscious packaging alternatives,” he added.

Beyond its operations, Hotpack continued to support communities through a range of initiatives during the year. Its Ramadan programmes involved more than 200 volunteers and resulted in the distribution of 60,000 Iftar meals and more than 100,000 food packages in collaboration with 12 partner organisations. The company also continued initiatives supporting outdoor worker welfare, health and wellness, mangrove restoration, community engagement and environmental awareness.

Hotpack received 10 external awards and recognitions during 2025 across areas including sustainability, packaging innovation, leadership and responsible business practices. The latest Sustainability Report brings these achievements together as part of the company’s wider strategy to create long-term value while strengthening transparency, accountability and responsible growth.

With 25 manufacturing facilities, a presence in 17 countries, a portfolio of more than 4,000 products and customers in more than 100 countries, the company continues to position responsible manufacturing and innovation as central to its future growth.
