Ohly launches new PRODRY® hot sauce powders in Chipotle and Aged Red Jalapeño

Ohly, a leading global supplier of yeast-based ingredients and culinary powders, is pleased to announce the launch of two new culinary hot sauce powders: PRODRY® Chipotle Puree Powder and PRODRY® Aged Red Jalapeño Sauce Powder. These join the existing range of PRODRY® The Original ˈLouisianaˈ Hot Sauce Powder, PRODRY® Brined Jalapeño Powder, PRODRY® Cayenne Pepper Sauce Powder and PRODRY® Mustard Powders, to help food manufacturers deliver true taste and appeal to evolving consumer preferences.

Naturally rich in hot and spicy ingredients, these spray-dried hot sauce powders retain a more complex taste than dry spices, so manufacturers can deliver complex, authentic flavours with long-lasting flavour sensations and natural colour. They can select a specific spice profile or strength with the added convenience of a free-flowing powder, which is easy to disperse, ensuring seamless, efficient flavour integration and a balanced heat profile.

PRODRY® Chipotle Puree Powder can be incorporated into a wide variety of culinary applications to bring the rich, smoky depth that chipotle is known for. Perfect for sauces, marinades, or snack seasonings, the free-flowing powder ensures excellent dispersion and control, creating perfectly balanced flavours – even in larger-scale manufacturing. Beyond its signature smokiness, chipotle powder adds savoury, fermented complexity and warmth, for those who are looking for a bold and layered chilli flavour.

PRODRY® Aged Red Jalapeño Sauce Powder delivers Sriracha-style flavour with zesty heat that works well across diverse applications, from sauces and glazes to snack seasonings and dry mixes. Ohly’s PRODRY® Aged Red Jalepeño Sauce Powder ensures high taste impact, consistent flavour distribution and heat control, ideal for scalable production. Aged Red Jalapeños’ fermented character and lingering heat appeal to consumers seeking bold taste experiences.

Daria Pashkova, Product and Marketing Manager at Ohly, explains, “Hot sauce trends continue to dominate the flavour market as consumers seek out unique sensory experiences from savoury foods. With a wide variety of flavour solutions in an increasingly competitive market, manufacturers need to find the right ingredients to help ensure their chilli flavours stand out.

Current hot sauce trends reflect a growing preference for complex and contrasting flavour profiles, particularly the combination of sweet and spicy taste sensations, like honey-chipotle or mango-habanero. Unconventional pairings continue to gain popularity, emphasising a broader shift in consumer curiosity. Chipotle stands out as an ever-popular example, favoured for its rich, smoky undertones, while jalapeño offers a bright, vibrant heat.

These trends indicate the industry’s move towards more nuanced flavour compositions that balance heat and flavour in new and exciting ways. To gain attention and stay competitive, manufacturers are finding new ways to incorporate these flavour trends into their product formulations.”

Ohly’s PRODRY® culinary powders are expertly curated to deliver true taste, helping food manufacturers make the most of the latest hot and spicy trends.

They continuously reinvest in their spray-drying processes so that they can create top-quality, reliable powdered ingredients, helping manufacturers to meet new trends and savour true taste.
