GEA Bakery: driving innovation and efficiency in industrial bakery production

GEA Bakery is a leading partner to the global bakery industry and part of GEA Group, one of the world’s largest system suppliers for food, beverage and pharmaceutical processing.

Formed through the integration of Imaforni and Comas and operating as GEA Bakery Italia S.p.A. since January 2026, the company is headquartered in Italy and employs over 400 people across its production sites. Today, it supports customers in more than 100 countries, combining strong local expertise with a global footprint.

GEA Bakery delivers end-to-end, fully integrated production lines for a wide range of applications, including cookies, crackers, cakes, layer cakes, pies & tarts, pizza and special bread. Its solutions cover the entire process chain, from raw ingredient handling and dough preparation to forming, baking and downstream operations, ensuring efficiency, flexibility and consistent product quality.

Innovation and sustainability remain central to its approach, with technologies designed to reduce energy and water consumption while improving overall process performance. Backed by the strength of a DAX-listed group, GEA Bakery continues to support bakery producers worldwide in addressing evolving market demands for efficiency, flexibility and product variety.

GEA Bake Depositor 2LC

The GEA Bake Depositor 2LC is a compact and highly versatile lobe depositor designed for the precise production of soft dough cookies, semi-liquid batters, and filled or co-extruded bakery products. It is ideally suited for small to medium-sized artisanal and industrial producers who require flexibility, consistency, and reliable performance in tray-based production.

Engineered to deliver high efficiency and product uniformity, the Bake Depositor 2LC supports a wide range of bakery applications, including deposited, wire-cut, soft-center, and co-extruded cookies, as well as dual-color and filled products. Format changeovers are fast and simple, enabling quick adaptation between product types and maximizing production uptime.

Despite its compact footprint, the machine offers high output performance, reaching up to 50 strokes per minute for deposited products and 100 cuts per minute for wire-cut applications. It can be used as a stand-alone unit or seamlessly integrated into existing production lines, ensuring maximum operational flexibility.

The modular design ensures excellent versatility in handling different dough types. Groove rollers are ideal for traditional depositing applications, while vane rollers with flexible paddles are optimized for aerated or lighter doughs, guaranteeing consistent product quality across recipes.

The Bake Depositor 2LC also enables advanced product creativity through co-extrusion and dual-color capabilities, allowing manufacturers to produce filled biscuits and visually distinctive cookies with patterns such as striped, marbled, or checkerboard designs.

Built with hygiene, reliability, and ease of maintenance in mind, the machine features a full stainless-steel structure and a partially or fully removable depositing head for fast and safe cleaning. Its lubrication-free mechanical design with direct-drive systems reduces wear, eliminates contamination risks, and ensures long-term operational reliability.

A dedicated waterproof rear cabinet protects the drive system while ensuring easy access for maintenance and performance adjustment. The intuitive HMI interface provides real-time monitoring of operating time, energy consumption, and drive performance, supporting predictive maintenance and efficient production management.

Combining compact design with powerful performance, the GEA Bake Depositor 2LC delivers exceptional flexibility, product consistency, and efficiency, enabling manufacturers to bring a wide variety of cookie concepts to life with ease and precision.
