Asia’s next wave of food and beverage innovation kicks off at Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 in Jakarta

Registration is now open for Fi Asia Indonesia 2026, which will take place at the Jakarta International Expo (JIExpo) from 16–18 September. This year’s event is expected to bring together over 24,000 visitors and 700 global exhibitors to advance food and beverage innovation around the theme of “Elevating Food Standards for a Healthier, Greener Future”.

Set in Jakarta, a strategic hub providing access to Southeast Asia’s booming food industry, Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 offers a pivotal platform for international food and beverage manufacturers to seize more tailored innovation opportunities within the growing ASEAN market. The Asia-Pacific region represents 60% of the world’s population and Indonesia, its largest economy, saw its GDP grow 5.11% in 2025. The food and beverage sector outpaced the average, rising by 6.23%. As a regional hub for food innovation, this sector also accounted for 80.27% of Indonesia’s total national exports between January and November 2025.

“Reflecting both Indonesia’s ambitions and the world’s appetite for what the Asia-Pacific market offers, Fi Asia Indonesia stands as the region’s hub for connecting ingredient suppliers with food and beverage manufacturers,” says Rose Chitanuwat, Regional Director at Informa Markets. “For international businesses, the region is no longer just an opportunity; it is truly a tactical necessity for sustainable global growth. This year’s theme, ‘Elevating Food Standards for a Healthier, Greener Future’ reflects our joint commitment to driving regulatory excellence and improving nutrition quality around the world.”

Translating trends into formulations

Beyond the bustling trade floor, the Fi Asia Conference serves as a premier world-class knowledge exchange hub, delivering a comprehensive three-day programme featuring expert presentations, panel discussions, and case studies. Specifically tailored for R&D professionals, regulatory teams, and business leaders, the conference will explore key developments shaping regional industry and provide deep dives into Research & Applied Innovation and Policy, Regulation & Compliance.

These sessions are essential for navigating the critical global shift toward clean labels and understanding Indonesia’s evolving regulatory landscape, such as its newly introduced traffic-light system for sugar, salt, and fat content. This educational focus is vital as 89% of Indonesian consumers express significant concern over additives and preservatives, while 90% are concerned about health risks from ultra-processed foods.4 Such trends in and beyond Indonesia are fuelling growing demand for healthier, transparent, and value-added products that formulators and brands must gear up to meet.

For further knowledge-sharing, the Fi Theatre will host innovation discussions in collaboration with Indonesia’s National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) and the Indonesian Food and Beverage Association (GAPMMI). This forum will explore topics such as fermentation technologies for next-generation food ingredients and the future of functional food and bioactive ingredient innovation, supporting industry collaboration and research exchange across the food and beverage sector.

Unrivalled sourcing scale and halal leadership

International attendees will also benefit from the Hosted Buyers Programme, a curated initiative designed to bridge the gap between global decision-makers and innovative providers within Asia’s food ingredients ecosystem. Hosted Buyers gain direct access to innovative ingredients, functional solutions, and technology providers, while exhibitors benefit from targeted engagement with decision-makers actively seeking new sourcing partnerships and regional supply opportunities.

In addition, attendees are invited to explore the Snack Bar, which offers practical insights on Indonesia’s fast-growing snack sector through expert-led workshops and live demonstrations focused on health-conscious reformulation, functional snacking, and local flavour reinvention. The Technical Presentation area also offers a dynamic platform for exhibitors to highlight practical applications, product demonstrations, technical insights, and case studies that are helping to drive food ingredient innovation forward.

Furthermore, Nutraceutical Indonesia, powered by Vitafoods Asia, debuts at the show in Hall D2 of JIExpo. It’s a fitting addition: Indonesia is the world’s largest Muslim-majority country and the global focal point for halal-certified health products. For global companies specialising in functional ingredients and supplements, that means access to an audience of more than 280 million domestic consumers as mandatory halal certification requirements are accelerating demand for halal-compliant functional foods, supplements and nutraceutical ingredients.

Registration for Fi Asia Indonesia 2026 is now open. For more information and to secure a place, please visit: Visitor Registration – FIA.
