The Rise of Centralised Food Production in the Middle East

Across the UAE and wider Gulf region, the rapid growth of Central Production Units (CPUs), Central Production Kitchens (CPKs), airline catering facilities, healthcare providers and large-scale hospitality developments is transforming the way food is produced. Rather than preparing food at individual locations, more organisations are adopting centralised production models that improve consistency, increase capacity and reduce operating costs while maintaining the highest standards of food safety.

A key requirement for these operations is the ability to extend chilled shelf life without compromising product quality. Cook Chill systems have become an essential part of modern food production, allowing food to be cooked, rapidly cooled and safely stored before being distributed to multiple locations. This approach reduces food waste, improves product consistency and provides greater flexibility for businesses supplying hospitals, airlines, hotels and other high-volume catering operations.

As investment in food security, hospitality and infrastructure continues across the region, demand for efficient, scalable food production technology is growing. Centralised production enables operators to standardise recipes, optimise labour, improve traceability and respond more effectively to changing demand.

For more than 55 years, DC Norris has been supporting food manufacturers and catering organisations with complete Cook Chill solutions designed to meet these evolving production requirements. Our equipment is trusted by food manufacturers, central production kitchens, airline caterers and healthcare providers throughout the Middle East.

Efficient cooking is fundamental to every successful Cook Chill process. DC Norris’ award-winning Jet Cook™ technology reduces cooking times while improving product consistency and lowering energy and water consumption. Integrated into industrial cooking systems, it enables manufacturers to produce soups, sauces, ready meals, dairy products and other prepared foods quickly and efficiently.

Alongside complete Cook Chill systems, DC Norris also offers the award-winning Cook Quench Chill Adapt system for the high-capacity processing of rice, pasta, potatoes, vegetables and grains. Its modular design enables businesses to increase throughput while reducing water and energy consumption as production requirements grow.

The DC Norris team will be exhibiting at Gulfood Manufacturing this November and looks forward to discussing how advanced cooking and cooling technologies can help food manufacturers improve productivity, sustainability and product quality.
