From Biodegradable Cutlery to Sustainable Bottling Systems: The Hotel Show 2024 Set to Showcase Latest Trends

Next month’s edition of The Hotel Show 2024 will preview the trends and techniques positioned to elevate excellence, efficiency, and environmental focus across the global hospitality sector.   An impressive 27 countries will be showcased at Dubai World Trade Centre between 4-6 June, where attendees will have a chance to hear from industry experts, as well as have the opportunity to engage with existing and future clients and suppliers showcasing their sustainability solutions in categories such as hotel technology, catering equipment, services, and amenities.

Since its inception more than 20 years ago, the three-day show has cemented its legacy globally as the region’s largest hospitality trade event. In this latest edition, organized by dmg events, the show will offer insights into the evolving hospitality landscape, including trends such as sustainable and eco-friendly solutions, AI in kitchens, and technology designed to improve efficiency and security across operations while increasing revenue.

Among the list of renowned exhibitors are RAK Porcelain, Everstyle, Gulf Asian, Dhofa, Linen Obsession, Tramontina, Industrias, and Jerusalam.

BE WTR, a Swiss-founded eco-friendly water bottling solution already gaining attention in the UAE through partnerships with reputed hotels such as Marriot Bonvoy and is set to launch a unique sustainable water bottling system. It will provide hotels with an eco-conscious water solution in the form of a state-of-the art, fully automated product enabling hotels to bottle their own filtered water on site.

Luigi Bologna, Managing Director at BE WTR UAE, said: “This is our first time exhibiting at The Hotel Show and we are excited to launch a range of products tailored for both home and hospitality use. The hotel industry in the region, especially in the Emirates, is unparalleled in terms of quality and service, so we are very keen to network with prospective regional partners and potential customers.”

Adding to the range of sustainable products being presented at the show is Dhofar Global, which will be highlighting Palmade – its locally made, biodegradable cutlery – alongside its range of -label chemicals, durable carts, and more.

“As a returning exhibitor, I can confidently say that we have made many valuable connections within the industry and experienced an increase in brand visibility and our business through our participation at The Hotel Show,” said Hariom Singh, Chief Sales Officer at Dhofar Global UAE. “This year, we look forward to continuing to elevate our presence within the hospitality industry, with a focus on showcasing our broad and innovative range of cost-efficient and eco-friendly solutions, contributing to the wave of sustainable practices being adopted by the industry.”

As per the Booking.com 2023 Sustainable Travel Report, travellers are now leaning towards adopting eco-friendly practices while travelling, with 76 per cent of travellers expressing a desire to travel more sustainably. Hotel chains and boutique hotels alike are also aligning with global sustainability trends, with more than 500,000 accommodations gaining eco-friendly labels in 2023.

The Hotel Show aligns with these global trends and has incorporated sustainability expert industry talks that carry CPD accreditation at the event. Industry experts will take the stage to discuss the reduction of environmental impact in the GCC hospitality industry, aligning itself with Dubai’s Vision 2040. In addition to these significant conversations towards sustainability, the show has transitioned to digital-only badges, minimising paper and resource consumption, further encouraging exhibitors to utilise digital brochures to keep up with the event’s eco-conscious efforts. Key topics may include navigating challenges and security threats in the hospitality industry, IT adoption, AI food tracking, harmonising operational efficiency and brand integrity, and exploring the potential of cloud applications in modern hospitality.

Elaine O’Connell, Senior Vice President of the Design & Hospitality Portfolio at dmg events, added: “The agenda for the latest edition of The Hotel Show has been crafted to give visitors a unique experience that encapsulates all the opportunities and challenges affecting the hotel industry currently. With a five star lineup of speakers and exhibitors, we are confident that it will provide a comprehensive exhibit of the latest innovations and technology available to the industry and lend insights and data into the  flourishing hospitality industry.”

An interactive Chefs Table organized and managed by the Emirates Culinary Guild is also back for a sixth edition. This year, it will feature six of the region’s most prominent hotels, competing over three days to win the prestigious title of ‘Hotel Culinary Team of the Year.’ Designed to showcase stunning culinary displays and techniques by some of the best chefs in the country, the popular event sponsored by Scent Marketing, Topia, RAK Porcelain, Barakat, and Chef Middle East will offer an unforgettable experience into the passion and dedication of these culinary enthusiasts.

The Hotel Show 2024 will span Sheikh Saeed Halls one to three and the Trade Centre Arena as more than 250 exhibitors prepare for an anticipated visitor turnout exceeding 10,000 people.
