Macfrut closes its 43rd edition, confirming itself more and more as the reference event for the global fruit and vegetable supply chain. The balance of the three days at the Rimini Expo Centre outlines a picture of extreme solidity: the event recorded an increase in visitors with a decisive acceleration on the international front, for an increase of over 12% in buyers (from over 80 countries) and foreign visitors.
A success resulting from a unique format that aggregates 1400 exhibitors and a capillary network of thematic exhibitions and dynamic areas. This result was made possible also thanks to the synergy with institutional partners: a special thanks goes to Agenzia ICE for the extraordinary collaboration, which allowed for such an effective development of the presence of foreign markets, bringing delegations from every continent to Rimini, just as a thanks goes to AICS (Italian Agency for Development Cooperation) for the commitment of Italian cooperation for sustainable agriculture.
Among the numerous initiatives during the Fair were high-profile scientific conferences on the entire supply chain with the world’s leading experts, while during the inauguration, a Macfrut–Nomisma Fruit and Vegetable Observatory was announced. Of significance was the presence of Italian Large-Scale Retail (GDO) which next year will see a renewed participation.
The 2026 edition projects the event toward new global frontiers. “For next year, we have already presented many innovations, starting with a new layout of the event that will make it more accessible for visitors and buyers, and more effective for the exhibitors themselves,” declares Patrizio Neri, President of Cesena Fiera, the organizer of Macfrut. “We are also enthusiastic about the response in visitor turnout and the growing international vocation of the fair.”
“I can announce – continues Neri – that we are now in the final stages of signing a strategic agreement for the enhancement of the pre-Harvest sector with the trade fair organizer Informa and its event Growtech, the world leader in the pre-harvest sector.”
The appointment for the 44th edition of Macfrut is already set for next year: the fair will be held from 20 to 22 April 2027.
