THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2025 Officially Opens in Bangkok, Celebrating Asia Pacific’s Food & Beverage Leadership and Global Trade Aspirations

Matthew Kurian Matthews, Assistant Editor of Food Business Gulf & Middle East, engaging with international stakeholders at the Norwegian pavilion during the opening day of THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2025 in Bangkok.

Bangkok, Thailand – May 27, 2025 – THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2025, Asia Pacific’s leading food and beverage (F&B) trade show, opened its doors today at IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, Bangkok, under the theme “Beyond Food Experience.” Running from May 27 to 31, the highly anticipated event is expected to attract more than 90,000 trade visitors, over 2,000 hosted buyers, and 3,233 exhibitors across 6,205 booths, representing Thailand and more than 56 countries and regions.

Jointly organized by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), the Thai Chamber of Commerce (TCC), and Koelnmesse, the 2025 edition spotlights groundbreaking innovations in functional foods, sustainability, and the integration of artificial intelligence in food production, packaging, and supply chains.
“Thailand holds significant strengths in the global food industry—ranging from a wealth of natural resources and culinary heritage to the agility of its entrepreneurs,” said Ms. Sunanta Kangvalkulkij, Director-General of DITP. “THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA plays a pivotal role in empowering Thai businesses to connect with global markets and capitalize on emerging trends.”

The DITP has implemented over 700 initiatives to promote Thai entrepreneurs worldwide, targeting 92 billion baht in trade value and supporting more than 260,000 businesses. Enhancing the Thai SELECT certification, the department will soon launch a ‘Star of Honour’ emblem—a refined global symbol of Thai culinary excellence.

This year’s show marks a surge in global participation, welcoming first-time exhibitors from Gabon, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Uzbekistan, and debuting new country pavilions from Australia, Hong Kong, and the Netherlands.

Over five days, the exhibition will showcase:
•Nine specialized trade shows
•11 key industry trend themes
•Workshops, seminars, and international competitions

Exhibitors will present a comprehensive range of F&B products, including drinks, fine food, food tech, frozen foods, fruits and vegetables, meat, rice, seafood, and sweets & confectionery. The estimated economic impact from immediate and short-term business deals is projected to exceed 98 billion baht.

“With the collaborative strength of domestic and international partners, THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA is more than a trade event—it is a catalyst for sustainable economic growth and a launchpad for Thai innovation in the global market,” added Ms. Sunanta.

Speaking on behalf of the private sector, Dr. Kitsana Vachekrilas, Vice Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, emphasized that the show provides unmatched global exposure for Thai businesses—particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). With food exports projected to reach 1.75 trillion baht in 2025, an increase of 6.8% year-on-year, Thailand currently ranks 12th globally in food export value.

This year, 1,184 Thai exhibitors are participating—more than 500 of them SMEs—alongside over 2,000 international exhibitors from East Asia, ASEAN, Europe, the Americas, and Africa.

In response to global consumer trends, the event places special emphasis on plant-based foods, sustainable products, organic agriculture, and functional nutrition, aligning with high-demand markets such as Europe and China.

Adding to the show’s international media coverage, Matthew Kurian Matthews, Assistant Editor of Food Business Gulf & Middle East, has been invited to represent the United Arab Emirates.

“I am honored to be part of THAIFEX – ANUGA ASIA 2025,” said Matthews. “As the leading F&B trade publication in the Middle East and Europe, reaching over 60,000 industry stakeholders, Food Business Gulf & Middle East offers unrivaled access for exhibitors looking to penetrate emerging markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. We’re here to spotlight their innovations and connect them with new business opportunities.”
